Alarm state

mapp Services V5.16

An alarm can be in one of the following states:

Inactive: The alarm is not active.

Active: The alarm is active.

Reset: The alarm is no longer active but has not been acknowledged.

Acknowledged: The alarm was acknowledged but is still active.

Consider the level of water in a tank as an example. As long as the level does not exceed the maximum value, then the alarm is inactive. As soon as it is exceeded, the alarm becomes active. The machine operator sees and acknowledges the active alarm, but the water level is still too high. If the machine operator does not acknowledge the alarm and the water level falls below the threshold value again, then the alarm would be reset.
